Dorothy Rice
Dorothy Rice is the author of two memoirs, Gray Is the New Black (2019, Otis Books) and The Reluctant Artist (Shanti Artist, 2015). She has also published numerous personal essays in literary journals and magazines. After a career in environmental protection and raising five children, Rice earned an MFA in Creative Writing at 60 and published her first book at 61. A San Francisco native who grew up in the Outer Sunset, blocks from the zoo and the beach, she now lives in Sacramento. Dorothy is on faculty for the Belize Writers Conference - April 25-30, 2020.
